Marriage Not Dating: Episode 6 » Dramabeans Korean Drama Recaps

avril 21st, 2023

But she left the picture after that and I don’t think we’re told if she dies or just leaves. We know that she was severely depressed and didn’t respond to YD during the funeral for his brother. I totally forgot about the whole murder subplot…..

Curious to see the viewership for the final episode. An abrupt happiness picked up immediately after how their world was shattered would have felt forced and betrayal to the journey that they all went through. Even though i woulda loved to see more happy moments years later, i understand the direction the show chose to take. Being broken before and found happiness again by reorienting myself from within, the ending resonates with me more than the teenager in me expected. Can’t believe I haven’t watched Lee Joon-gi before!

Perhaps the most disappointing thread left unresolved was grandpa’s approval. I feel like they set up so many opportunities to bring that full circle. I was waiting for him to be watching the drama and have a light bulb moment. We also saw him appreciating a roadside bun stand and I was hoping that would come into play with him appreciating Ha Ri’s family’s chicken shop. Instead we got a random off-screen approval that felt like a total letdown for what had been being built up. Ha Ri/Geum Hi and grandpa’s relationship was arguably one of the most important in the show and I hated how it was swept under the rug in the end.

Hoon-dong seems like the class clown type, and though his faults are many, when he’s sweet he’s very sweet and he makes her laugh. He looks Jang-mi up and down as he says that woman was desperate to get married too, and shouts into the phone that he isn’t going to marry ever, so they should just give up. But it’s too late—Aunt is on her way with Mom right now. Ki-tae saves Hoon-dong yet again by running interference, and stands in Jang-mi’s way so she can’t see him.

She sees what he’s playing at—he brings home a girlfriend, which gets Mom to back off on the blind dates, while he gets to remain single. She isn’t interested in helping him trick his family though, while he sighs that if he could’ve handled it with a talk he would’ve; it’s not that kind of family. Ki-tae gets a rude awakening of his own when a real estate agent starts showing his house unannounced, and he sits down with Mom for the first time in years. He refuses to give up that house, and she wonders why when it’s not like they had good memories there. It leaves Jang-mi mortified, but she stands her ground and retorts that the bastard is hiding behind friends and his mother, all because he can’t break up with her in person.

Marriage Not Dating: Episode 15

I know a woman whose mother had breast cancer and she did not get treated because she didn’t want to ruin her daughter’s chance at getting married. The daughter was engaged and the mom did not want to risk the engagement getting broken off. In another case, the woman was seriously dating someone and her parents would not give their blessing because the boyfriend’s father had cancer. They had to break up and the daughter ended up getting married to someone else later, but very unhappily.

Neither can Jang-mi, and she just has a small tantrum and heads back to the restaurant. Meanwhile Hoon-dong wakes up and is horrified to realize that he slept with Hyun-hee, and sneaks into the restaurant in case one of the girls might be there. Yeo-reum can’t help ribbing him a little, and Hoon-dong retaliates by childishly tipping over a drink for him to clean up. Hyun-hee finds Jang-mi sitting outside, and tells her she’s been seeing Hoon-dong. Jang-mi is aghast that she would be with him, knowing how he treated her.

Marriage Not Dating Episode 4

Episode 15 left me as a mess, excited and nervous to see what episode 16 has in store for us. Made me cry during the drawing scene. Although its a trope, I understand that they went with the amnesia route, because he fell back in love with her with a clean slate as himself, as Do Hyun Soo.

Where to Watch Marriage, Not Dating

Jang Mi is legitimately upset that he has made a fool out of her when she truly loved him and even dreamt of a future with him. She’s so angry that she brings the bottle over her head about to strike him but Gi Tae steps in to stop her. He tells her that he’s helping her and that she should be grateful but after seeing her cry, he lets her go chase after Hoon Dong. Hoon Dong actually runs and hides in the bathroom while calling the police to report his stalker. Gi Tae tries to calm her down but instead gets hit in the face by the bottle. She is determined to cut it off with that jerk and move on.

Of course his mom and aunt witnesses this argument and thinks that it is a lover’s quarrel. His mom decides to follow Jang Mi and actually invites her to their house for dinner and apologizes for her son. Of course Jang Mi thinks that she’s Dong Hoon’s mom and is rather confused. Gi Tae is not happy to say the least about the turn of events.

Welcome to the discussion thread of Love ft. This is Netflix’s first kdrama of 2021, TV Chosun’s first 2021 kdrama, and finally the first TV Chosun drama to be streamed on Netflix as a ‘Netflix Original Series’. The blind date couple continues with the “getting to know you” stage. Gi Tae finally picks up the phone and asks whoever is on the other side what it is that they needs him to see.

Hopefully it’ll help bring us better kdramas in general, as they’ve now seen how high kdrama quality can reach. Imma start reccing this to everyone I know, ‘What do you mean a TV series from Korea’ reactions be damned. I absolutely loved everything about it. The way the whole amnesia plot was handled. Contrasting the parallel stills in ep 1 and ep 16 of the Do family hugging and main leads kissing….wow…

Also, the phone conversation between KDJ and her mom, that hurt. Cheer Up Mr. Kim is https://datingstream.org/ one of my all time favorite dramas. It’s so heartwarming and not that dramatic.
